Self-Build Component Packs

Now you can get the satisfaction of building your own race car without having to worry about donor parts or sourcing all those little extras.

The C23 is a real race car that does not use donor or reconditioned parts. Because we handbuild every car we make we know every part that you need to build it. Our component packages include everything you need to build the car, all you need to supply is time, tools and some paint to finish.

If you want to build your own car but are eager to be ready to race a bit earlier we can supply rolling chassis instead.

Stage 1 -
Chassis
Powder coated, Bronze welded spaceframe chassis with bonded and riveted aluminium panels (52551 - H3 marine spec.). Front & rear wishbones with torsion bushes fitted & rear drag links. Cast aluminium (heat treated LM25) front uprights complete with stub axle and top & bottom ball joints. Cast aluminium (heat treated LM25) rear uprights complete with bearings and drive flanges. Aluminium front hubs complete with bearings. Floor mounted pedal set incorporating brake balance bar & aluminium 38 ltr fuel tank incorporating breather/roll-over valve.
Dash panel - pre-punched for 2 x 50mm gauges - C23 or 3 x 50 mm gauges - C23R
Front anti-roll bar - C23R Only.
Stage 1 - Chassis

Stage 2 -
Steering & Suspension
Light weight dog-leg steering column complete with bearings, UJ's & 330mm "D" steering wheel. Bespoke eccentric pinion steering rack with aluminium housing and backlash adjustment. 10 or 9 tooth pinion available, request at time of ordering. Steering arms - Alloy C23R, Steel C23T. Tie rods with spherical bearings to steering arms. Front & rear aluminium coil-over shocks - Bearings C23R, Bushes C23T. Front & rear coil springs. Three ride heights & three spring rates are available and must be specified at time of ordering. we will help you decide based on the type of driving required.
Stage 2 - Suspension & Steering

Stage 3 -
Brakes & Hydraulics
Set of three master cylinders to match brake caliper specification and clutch actuation. Front & rear stainless steel braided brake hoses, coil of copper brake pipe and all T-pieces, unions and connectors including brake pressure switch.
Clutch hydraulic line of stainless steel braided hose with slave cylinder adaptors.

Brakes - C23R
Front 4 pot alloy calipers, cross-drilled & grooved vented discs, severe duty race pads.
Rear 4 pot alloy calipers, cross-drilled & grooved solid discs, severe duty race pads. (No handbrake provision)
Remote bias adjuster.

Brakes - C23T
Front 4 pot alloy calipers, solid front discs, fast road/light race pads.
Rear 4 pot alloy calipers incorporating hand brake actuation, solid discs, fast road/light race pads.

Stage 3 - Brakes & Hydraulics

Stage 4 -
Driveline, Cooling & Controls
Mamba 2.0ltr Duratec engine coupled to VAG high torque transaxle. Complete with starter motor, alternator, exhaust manifold, engine and transaxle mountings, drive shafts, fully mapped engine management, loom and air box.
C23R - 225+ Spec (w/o Oxygen sensor)
C23T - 180+ Spec (with Oxygen sensor)
Front to rear aluminium coolant pipes, Aluminium front mounted radiator with ducting set, coolant hoses & clips, expansion tank.
C23R only - Mocal oil/water oil cooler.
C23T only - electric fan.
Oil catch bottle.
Right hand gear shift including all rods, UJ's and bearings, gear knob with "Lotus" logo.
Throttle cable.
Stage 4 - Driveline & Cooling

Body & Electrics
6 piece composite body set complete with mountings and lock downs
C23R - vented front clam shell. C23T - 'Classic' front clam shell.
3 piece wind deflector set and headlamp covers. Pair of composite seat shells.
Complete lighting set.
LED Rain light (C23R Only).
Water Temp gauge & sender, Oil pressure Gauge & Sender, Oil temp gauge & sender (C23R only). All switches, battery Isolator and car wiring loom complete with fuse/distribution board.
Combination speedo/Tacho/Odometer and multifunction data logger option available (poa).
Stage 5 - Body

Rolling Chassis If you need a bit of help to get you going, we can provide a loosely assembled rolling chassis. That's everything built together from Stages 1 - 4 & Stage 6 leaving you with the body & electrics to fit.
(The Stage 6 components are excluded from the cost, but included in the build, as the exact specification is customer specific.)
