The Motor Racing season for Ken Culverwell's, Mamba Motorsport sponsored and prepared C23R started at Silverstone on 26 March 2006.
Ken smoothly piloted the C23R to qualify in 5th and finish in 5th.

This was the second race that this C23R has entered and the first outing in the car since some suspension changes had been made over the winter months. The weather was unpredictable but in overcast conditions Ken put the car on the 3rd row of the grid, behind the immensely powerful Cobras and splitting the Crossles, in a field of 16. The race got underway in the late afternoon under drizzling conditions that went on to deteriorate - the C23R behaved impeccably under the expert guidance of Ken and finished safely in 5th place.
